Telefonica UK has outsourced the development and management of online applications to Cognizant through a managed services contract.

The outsourced applications are customer-facing and support Telefonica’s sales and customer support.

Telefonica expects the deal will make its customer support operation more agile, flexible and easier to change in response to customer demands and market fluctuations.

Brendan O'Rourke, head of online integration and product design at Telefonica UK, said Cognizant’s ability to provide services from different locations was attractive: “We will have access to Cognizant's global delivery network, industry leading practices and innovation.”
