An enhanced “premium” version of the OpenOffice productivity suite has been launched.
The open source OpenOffice.org Premium 2.0.3 software is available for free download and adds a set of extras to the recently released 2.0.3 version.
The updated suite of desktop applications – including a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation manager and drawing program – now includes 2,800 pieces of clip art, new templates, samples and documentation and more than 90 fonts.
OpenOffice.org last month urged users of earlier versions of Open Office to upgrade to version 2.0.3 after reports of security bugs that could allow hackers to take over users’ systems.
The vulnerabilities affect users of OpenOffice.org versions 2.0.x and 1.1.x, although no known exploits so far exist in the wild.
