Opera partners with Google in mobile space

Opera Software has chosen Google as a technology partner for its mobile internet browsers. Opera said Google would be the default search partner for its mobile browsers, which are aimed at mobile phones and other mobile devices.

The one-year contract will allow Opera to make Google Search a major part of the browsers’ home screens. Oslo-based Opera only has around 2% of the desktop browser market, but sees the mobile space as an increasingly important part of its overall business.

Opera has made mobile browsers available to various suppliers for over six years.
