Tcomm UK has launched what it claims is the UK’s first cross-platform, independent mobile TV service.

Tellyfone delivers live, streamed and downloaded audio/video content direct to mobile phones, and includes full digital content rights management.

The service gives access to a range of content, from comedy to cooking, and music to sports, via a network of individual subscription channels. Six premium channels are already live, and another eight will appear in the next two months.

Further services will include the ability to deliver ringtones, wallpapers and logos with the content.

Tellyfone works over GSM, GPRS and 3G mobile networks with Symbian, Java and 3G-enabled mobile phones.
