Computer Associates is to buy Concord Communications, a provider of network management solutions, for $330m (£183m).

CA will also absorb approximately $20m in net debt from Concord, bringing the value of the purchase up to $350m.

The acquisition is designed to extend CA's offering in the global enterprise management market.

Concord's eHealth technology provides network performance management and predictive capacity planning, and is used by telecommunications companies, service providers and enterprises.

Concord’s products also support the management of growing communications technologies including voice over IP and wireless mobile networks.
