Ada Lovelace Day - Kim Jones
Kim Jones is managing director of Sun Microsystems. She has been at the company since 1987 when it was a start-up, and is a member of the Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change. She says one of the big issues for her is how to get more girls interested in science and technology at a younger age. “We are working with partners, schools and universities to show what great opportunities there are in computer science or any of the sciences. We need to get kids of around 11 or 12 to understand mathematics and what they can do with it.” (Read our interview with Kim Jones.)
