One of the problems for RFID implementors is said to be the lack of a single source solution or service to pull all the threads of the implementation together. There are lots of RFID technology companies, but no one delivering a single, coherent, 'Don't worry. Leave it to us, Guv' service. (Although a string of consulting firms will say they'll help organisations release process benefits through RFID)
So, it's taken an alliance between two US companies, one in RFID software, the other in infrastructure services to pull this one-stop-shop offering together. GlobeRanger and Winston Joseph are the two companies. You can read their announcement here
I'm sure, however, with 2008 predicted to be a take-off year for RFID, that it won't be long before
others claim to be offering the same 'Leave it all to us' service.
