Plug and Play RFID

Among the growing list of potential RFID applications, this one seems like it is set for success: the use of plug and play RFID solutions for smart ticketing and access control.

In a recent announcement, two companies - Precision Dynamics and Gateway Ticketing said they'd work together
using Precision Dynamics' RFID wristbands in transport systems, parks and resorts served by Gateway's admission control and ticketing software.

You may expect to see more of this sort of tie-up, using RFID as a plug and play option, and certainly in these sort of access control/transport/leisure and amusement applications.

Retail may be an area that captures many of RFID's headlines; however, for now, applications such as access control, transport and leisure may prove to be its bread and butter.
