I was reading a reply to a blog entry on the Wall St Journal's website the other day, responding to another attack by the Wall St Journal on the technology, and those adopting it.
The Wall St Journal has apparently had a downer on RFID ever since it published an article earlier in the year discussing Wal-Mart's RFID progress.
RFID clearly arouses opinions - and that's before you go anywhere near the privacy issue - but perhaps it's time to re-iterate just some of the companies that are making a success of the technology - Airbus, Boeing, Marks & Spencer, Kimberly-Clark, Dell, a string of airports such as Hong Kong, Milan, San Francisco, IATA, Ulster Carpets, FloraHolland, Metro - to name but a few (you can read about countless others on RFID Journal)
No-one ever said implementing the technology would be easy, and there's still a long way to go - did someone mention making sense of all the data that RFID is going to generate? That's going to be an issue in itself - but let's at least give some credit to the success stories so far.
