Learning from Wal-Mart and Dow Chemical

It's always good to learn from others how they've approached RFID. Here are two in-depth stories on how Wal-Mart - one of the real RFID trailblazers, has had to adapt its strategy as time has progressed - and how Dow Chemical found itself with 450 proposals for how to use RFID within its business, and then had to whittle the 450 down, first to 50, and then to just 10 for approval.

In Dow's case, it only took a call for ideas from CIO Dave Kepler to bring forward a stream of suggestions, even if at the time, 2004, Kepler's team were sceptical that RFID was ready for prime time.

Putting out a general call for proposals as to how RFID might benefit your company?
Well it worked for Dow, so why not others?
