9 of 10 - Personal (can also be used in business!)When you walk into the lounge and your child / children are watching something just say something like "What's this rubbish?" and, when you want to watch TV and they are hogging it -say "we pay for the licence you know" - this really alienates them, because they don't have the money to pay for the licence!
As an alternative - take a genuine interest in the programme they are watching, or their music.
Still, your children, your choice.
