When you meet someone...

...At your interview, or in life, they will decide if they like you in just three seconds. That's three seconds.. And it's kind of important to get them to like you, as you have this much chance of being promoted / offered the job if they don't. So, before reading the Extended Entry, write down now the three top things you need to do to create a fantastic first impression, in most cultures in the world...

1. Make direct eye contact - show an interest in their favourite subject, themselves

2. Smile - the single most positive look, learned over many years from our parents smiling at us when we were babies - we love people who smile at us

3. Mirror their handshake - people like people who are like themselves

And if this is all too touchy-feely, then don't. Look at the floor, burst into tears and throttle their hand or worse-still, shake it like a limp fish. Your choice - just ask yourself teh eternal question of success, which will help you move closer to what you want to achieve?

PS When to reply to an aggressive e-mail
