When it goes wrong, ask the ultimate project question...

..."How does this event / problem / challenge help us complete this project on time?"

Why it works - Because we automatically move towards whetever we think about most - and we cannot think in a negative - i.e. we cannot manifest in our minds something that is not there - as you read this, right now, do not think of a pink elephant.

Because of this, any negative thought tricks the subconscious into making the negative thought even bigger - Alton Towers vertical drop rollercoaster Oblivion says "Don't Look Down" just before they drop you, and everyone automatically does just the opposite.

Projects fail because projects start to fail - we focus on what is going wrong, what we don't want more of, and what might go wrong next. The ultimate project question gets us as individuals and as a team to focus on what is going well, what is right with the project, and this is always - always - more productive.

So, do it - or don't, just do something to move forward, or stop complaining.

PS The fourth most powerful word in the English Language - "And" - say it instead of "But" for the next 24 hours and see how you feel, and how others react to you.
