2 Perception of your team, your projects and your department

If this is number two, trust me, the number one must be poowerful beyond measure - it is. It has to be to knock this one to number two, because when actioned on, this one alone will change everything for you - you will have more time, you will be more respected and valued, and your whole department will be uplifted.

Know this always - your success does not come down to what you do, it comes down to what people think you do - every time, always. Perception is reality.

It has to be, logically, because the same event can happen, and many people will see it or remember it differently.

If you don't believe this, fine, forget recognition, promotion to senior levels, and being respected by your team.

Of course you have to deliver, you must also be seen to be deliver, stand by for the three, gold-dust ways of doing this:

(When I say "you" I mean you as you, you as a team, you as a department)

* Build trusted relationships throughout your organisation - I am not talking about Account Management, I am talking about trust between people.

* Make sure that your organisation catches you doing things right, on a consistent basis.

* Everything you do must be externaly focused, not secret, with no jargon - and money / delivery focused.

And be upbeat and optimistic...
