Intel on RFID: "disruptive but exciting"

I've just seen an interesting piece about how how Intel views RFID. Basically, it sees it as a disruptive technology that will be broadly adopted across industries and affect the way enterprises operate and do business. That view is probably no surprise, but it's good to hear it from Intel.

Intel RFID Marketing Director Kerry Krause adds:

"Intel has long had a vision of pushing intelligence to the edge of enterprise networks, and for what we call ubiquitous computing or machine-to-machine computing where enterprise transactions or activity are initiated without the need for human intervention. RFID is seen as an early example of that type of technology evolution."

You can read the interview on RFID Switchboard here. It's also interesting to note that Intel is using RFID itself within its own supply chain.
