RFID tag specs

Although RFID technology has been around for years, in commercial terms, it is still a fledgling technology, with performance issues still to be answered before companies can see real business benefits.

That is why organisations such as the Metro Group - arguably now the most advanced RFID exponent in Europe, certainly in the retail sector - got involved in setting up the European EPC (Electronic Product Code) Competence Centre in Germany (EECC) to help develop global standards with GS1 Germany.

Now, EECC has produced a report into the performance of UHF tags and RFID transponders to help would-be RFID exponents compare tags, and ensure the right RFID transponder fits the right application.
