Cosmos Holidays and Monarch Airlines are using a web applications testing product from Empirix to ensure applications run smoothly in the development stage before being launched to the public.
The tour operator and airline are both part of the Monarch Travel Group and will use the testing product to ensure customers can make online bookings smoothly.
Both Cosmos and Monarch are deploying Empirix’s e-Test suite product to test new web applications that deliver up-to-the-minute news, the latest holiday and flight deals, and online booking.
The two companies will also use Empirix’s managed testing service, e-LoadExpert, to test the performance and scalability of their web applications under heavy user load, to ensure transactions are completed quickly and accurately.
Laurie Diffey, Monarch Travel Group head of IT development, said, “The methodical way in which Empirix executes its test scripts ensures that bottlenecks can be identified while still within the development lifecycle.
“Empirix has consistently demonstrated its ability to identify unforeseen issues, which can be addressed and resolved ahead of implementation. The Empirix testing has been a major factor in improving reliability, performance and confidence in our websites.”
In an e-LoadExpert engagement, Empirix professional services staff use e-Test suite to simulate hundreds of thousands of concurrent users, executing real business transactions to analyse the performance of web applications under high traffic volume.
During the test, the team also monitors the performance of back-end application infrastructure to identify bottlenecks and help tune application performance.
