Tibco Software has released its latest web platforms to allow users to move towards service-orientated architectures (SOAs).

Tibco Software has released its latest web platforms to allow users to move towards service-orientated architectures (SOAs).

SOAs allow companies to quickly and flexibly re-configure their IT infrastructures to address the needs of their business using web services.

Tibco has announced Version 5.0 of its Portal Builder platform, and the new Accelerated Value Framework, which offers best practices for completing SOA implementations.

The Framework covers SOA deployment management and governance. Portal Builder 5.0 provides additional features to help implement SOAs, including a less complicated development interface which allows business users as well as developers to re-configure portal features.

Portal Builder 5.0 is also based on several SOA standards. These include the Java Specification Request 168 API (application programming interface) for portlet interoperability, and the Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSPR) standard which helps integrate both content and applications.
