The operating system Windows 2000 server is deployed company-wide in 48% of financial services organisations that responded to the Computer Weekly survey at CityIT.
And 45% of respondents have deployed Windows 2000 on desktops across their company.
Of those responding to the survey, more than half said they were deploying Linux and open source software. Only 3% said open source software was fully deployed throughout the organisation, a further 3% said it was fully deployed in one or more departments while 19% were evaluating open source.
