The European Commission has restarted its in-depth probe of Oracle's hostile bid for PeopleSoft.
The commission temporarily stopped its investigation because it needed further information from Oracle.
"Oracle has supplied all the additional information we requested," said spokeswoman Amelia Torres.
The new deadline for the commission to rule on the takeover is 11 May.
According to PeopleSoft, which is opposed to the takeover, officials at the US Department of Justice have proposed prohibiting the deal.
Torres said that a decision by US regulators will have no effect on the commission's assessment of the deal's impact on Europe.
