A handheld, real-time radio frequency data collection device for use in hazardous areas, has been released by Heron Management Services.
The company says the Antares 2425 CS is the only real-time data collection device which is certified intrinsically safe (IS) for use in the most hazardous areas. Many organisations are currently using remote and real-time data collection techniques integrated with manufacturing or enterprise resource planning (MRP/ERP). This does not work if part of the inventory control process is in a hazardous environment; the Antares device addresses this problem.
Remote data gathering using the Antares terminals connected via a network, can deliver real-time data in two directions, updating the data store and informing the hand-held user of any specific requirements for that particular item in real time.
