Vaizey saved by the bell

Cross-bench peer Lord Erroll, no stranger to the hurly-burly of the political process, asked communications minister Ed Vaizey what he proposed to do about BT’s alleged “predatory practices”, and how he was going to protect community broadband network owners from BT. Otherwise the UK would see a repeat of what happened in the past, where local operators stimulated demand, and BT came in and undercut them, he said.
“Absolutely so,” said Mr Vaizey, as he headed for the door, saved by the division bell.
