Computer Weekly journalists are reporting live on today's Budget. It is anticipated that the Budget will focus on ways to stimulate the private sector. Not least because the Chancellor's 'Budget for Growth' will need to find some creative ways of filling the employment gap left by unprecedented public spending cuts.

Can IT drive the UK economy? Accountancy consulting firm Grant Thornton says the IT industry will have little to celebrate. IT industry group Intellect says there is a danger that the government will fail to understand the huge role technology can play in delivering the whole UK growth strategy.

A YouGov survey is showing that a large proportion of the UK population is worried that spending cuts will have a negative impact on data security.
