The partnership is aimed to enhance the performance and efficiency of BA's global technology infrastructure. BA is expected to make substantial savings over the next three years as a result.
BA chief information officer Paul Coby said: "Our relationship will help the airline in its continuing efforts to simplify, standardise and take complexity and cost out of the business."
Initially Dell will provide the PCs for BA's desktop refresh programme. Existing PCs are being replaced by Dell's Latitude notebook and OptiPlex desktop PCs.
BA is also starting a home PC purchasing scheme in conjunction with Dell. The agreement also involves establishing a BA and Dell cobranded cyber cafe at the airline's headquarters.
