French software developer Ilog has introduced the latest version of its Java software component library.

The JViews Component Suite 5.0 aims to help developers build enterprise portals. The company said the latest version improves access to back-end data and that the software would benefit any portal application that requires sharing of information between enterprise applications.

Partners using the product include SAP, i2 Technologies, Candle Corporation and Aspen Technologies.

Data available through the software includes: asset management maps; diagrams; project views; business process design screens; monitoring "dashboards"; performance analysis displays; and resource scheduling tools.

The product uses pre-built JavaBeans, Java class libraries and customisable editors to simplify the link between Java applications and back-end servers.

JViews Component Suite 5.0 is available for Windows, Unix and Linux platforms running JDK 1.2 or later. Pricing starts at $6,500 (£4,586).
