Mainframe tools specialist Micro Focus has acquired application
development company Borland and the application testing and
automated software quality business of Compuware. The combined
values of these deals is $155m.
Micro Focus said the acquisitions would broaden and strengthen
its product portfolio.
Stuart, McGill, CTO at Micro Focus, said, "Micro Focus gains a
suite of test management and test data management. We are now
moving into the software testing market."
The acquisitions fit in with the company's strategy to become an
enterprise application management and modernisation company. "We
have acquired five companies and this is the next step in our
journey in our plans laid out in 2006," McGill said.
