
Shell’s $4 billion IT outsourcing deal announced earlier this
month, will see outsourcer EDS take over the risk and governance of
the oil company’s key networks and data centre IT suppliers. The
contract is innovative as it involves three IT outsourcing
contracts, totalling $4 billion, with
EDS,
AT&T and T-Systems to cover 150,000 staff across 100
countries. Unlike most multi-sourcing agreements where one primary
supplier sub contracts IT services, Shell has kept financial
control and has established a service level with each firm. In this
