Shell’s $4 billion IT outsourcing deal announced earlier this month, will see outsourcer EDS take over the risk and governance of the oil company’s key networks and data centre IT suppliers. The contract is innovative as it involves three IT outsourcing contracts, totalling $4 billion, with EDS, AT&T and T-Systems to cover 150,000 staff across 100 countries. Unlike most multi-sourcing agreements where one primary supplier sub contracts IT services, Shell has kept financial control and has established a service level with each firm. In this podcast Cliff Saran speaks to Swee Chen Goh, vice president for IT infrastructure and services for Shell globally, about this innovative contract.
