Mothercare is to implementCodaas
its group-wide accounting system for integrating its disparate
financial management systems as cohesively as
possible.
Mike Rainer, Mothercare's group financial controller, said the
ease of integration with other business systems was the deciding
factor in choosing Coda.
"Coda's software will support our complex group structure," said
Rainer. "Their team worked closely with us to show how the
application, and its consolidation and reporting capabilities,
would meet our critical business issues."
Coda will link its merchandising and EPoS environments into
Mothercare's financial management systems, with the goal of
automating the retailer's accounting processes.
Coda is already in use at Mothercare UK and Early Learning
Centre, but was subject to a competitive evaluation, according to
Rainer.
He added that the level of detail that could be captured in Coda
was impressive. "All store transactions are held in great detail,
enabling in-depth analysis and reporting - for example, by period,
by week, by day, by store. It also offers sophisticated high-volume
invoice matching which is vital for any retailer."
Coda said that its financial software was popular with retailers
because of its flexibility and user-friendliness. It cited
user-defined screens as helping untrained staff to adapt to the
system more easily.
Mothercare is supplemening Coda with the Cognos
business intelligence tool so it can conduct end-to-end
accounting and reporting analysis.
