Directhas appointed its first head of
IT.
The firm has appointed Derek Colvin,
formerly of Microsoft and the Newspaper Licensing Agency (NLA),
as its IT head.
Glasses Direct recently won £2.9m of venture capital to help it
expand its business.
Colvin spent four years at Microsoft's MSN and Xbox divisions,
and was later the NLA's chief technology officer. Colvin will have
a similar role at Glasses Direct, where he will be responsible for
running the firm's back-end and web IT infrastructure.
