Recruitment company Indigo Red has introduced the UK's
first online video recruitment website.
The company says its VlogYourJob.com site is aimed at tackling
the problem of recruiting in a market where there are more
employers than good candidates. Seven years ago, Computer Weekly
reported on a similar website introduced for
job seekers to add video to their online CVs.
VlogYourJob.com uses social media to post vlogs or short videos
as job advertisements online to reach the newest generation of job
hunters.
"VlogYourJob is designed to let potential candidates 'know' you
before applying for a job. It is a much better way of getting
across your company culture and what you are like as an employer
than a written ad or job spec," said Steve Mallison-Jones, managing
director at Indigo Red.
PR firm, Clarke
Mulder Purdie, is the first to take advantage of the low cost
advertising. "Instead of just filling in the standard recruitment
brief, that never fully captures the culture of the agency, it
allows us to express more about who we are and what we need in an
original way," said Chris Clarke, director of Clarke Mulder
Purdie.
