Allianz has signed a five-year £274m strategic
outsourcing partnership with Fujitsu Services for the provision
of desktop, network and telecommunication services.
The deal was signed through Allianz’s IT service provision arm
AGIS (Allianz Dresdner Informationssyteme). The deal will see 500
jobs being transferred from AGIS to Fujitsu.
Fujitsu will be the main service provider for AGIS, focusing on
supply, installation, support and maintenance. AGIS will manage all
of the relevant services and will have overall responsibility for
projects, billing and engineering.
AGIS said, “Our main criterion in looking for a partner in this
field was giving the personnel affected bright prospects for the
future. Fujitsu fits this description as the company has its sights
set on growth in the German IT services market, which is
undoubtedly the best basis for providing prospects for our
employees in their areas of competence.”
Winfried Holz, CEO of Fujitsu Services in Germany, said, “The
AGIS personnel that will be joining the Fujitsu team will be
integrated into a larger, pan-European service organisation and
will play a key role in our growth strategy.”
Fujitsu Services is headquartered in London, and is the IT
services arm of Japan's Fujitsu Group.
