Capita mail bomb part of a concerted campaign?

Police are investigating a mail bomb attack on business process outsourcing firm Capita yesterday.

The attack could now possibly be part of a concerted campaign, as the offices of tax consultant Vantis were also attacked this morning.

In the Capita attack, a woman suffered burns at the firm’s London offices in Victoria Street. The bomb went off in the mail room.

Capita manages a number of IT contracts in the government sector, including the London congestion charge.

The Vantis attack resulted in two men suffering from burns at the firm’s Wokingham offices in Berkshire.

Police have so far not connected the two attacks.
Capita said it had been advised not to comment on the attack.

It’s offices were evacuated after the attack and the woman who opened the parcel is said to have suffered minor injuries, just as the two men did at Vantis.

The Metropolitan Police counter terrorism unit is now investigating both attacks.

No claims of responsibility have so far been made for the attacks.
