ABN Amro has signed a deal with Equens to get SEPA
debit card processing services for a period of five years, starting
from 1 January 2009.
With the deal, the banking group will ensure that all of its
debit card payments can be processed in the forthcoming SEPA
(single Euro payments area) format. SEPA is scheduled to come into
force in 2008.
Maarten Mol, ABN Amro’s corporate executive vice-president,
said, “The choice of Equens as the payment processing partner to
support ABN Amro in realising its international card ambitions, was
based on outstanding price/quality performance in combination with
their proven and reliable professional track record in card
processing payment services and partnering.”
ABN Amro is the first client that has chosen Equens to deliver
SEPA Card payment services.
