An Iranian computer game where players try to rescue one
of the country’s top nuclear scientists from the grip of US forces
in Iraq could soon be appearing on PCs.
The development marks an increasing reflection of real
international tensions in the world of computer gaming.
The new game, featuring an Iranian special forces “Commander
Bahman”, was designed by children belonging to the Union of Islamic
Student Societies, reports from the Iranian Fars news agency
said.
In the US, games such as “US Attacks Iran” and “Assault on
Iran”, distributed through free download from Kuma Reality Games,
are already available, despite protests from many Iranians.
The proposed Iranian-made game would see nuclear scientist
"Doctor Kousha" travel to the Shi'a Muslim shrine city of Kerbala,
southern Iraq, on a pilgrimage, before being snatched by US
troops.
