IP VPN improves service quality

Financial services company Berkeley Berry Birch (BBB) has hired Fibernet to provide a multi-protocol label switching IP virtual private network, to improve communications and increase quality of service.

The VPN uses the MPLS quality of service technology to support secure communications between 11 company sites.

The company was created by the merger of two companies in 2002, which brought together inherited legacy networks, each with inadequate service level agreements and insufficient flexibility to support planned new financial products.

The existing networks also couldn’t fully support the merged company's independent financial advisers. Fibernet won the contract to install a managed MPLS-based network following a competitive tender.
