Alinean, an IT value consultant, has announced a strategic
partnership with the Hurwitz Group research firm to integrate its
ROI analysis tools and IT value metrics with Hurwitz Group's ROI
research, analysis and data.
The first set of offerings from the two companies, available
immediately, is aimed at helping IT vendors and consultants
accurately quantify the costs, benefits, strategic value and risks
of some of their products and services.
These include business process management, customer relationship
management, enterprise resource planning, managed services, mobile
computing, outsourcing, utility-based computing, systems management
and Web services.
The tool kits package Hurwitz Group's proprietary ROI research,
metrics and white papers with Alinean's ROI Calculator and ROI
Analyst software tools.
The partnership with Hurwitz Group represents Alinean's third
alliance with an industry research firm. In June, Alinean struck an
agreement with Aberdeen Group to create and co-market The Security
ROI Selling Toolkit, an interactive system aimed at helping vendors
demonstrate the value of IT security projects.
In May, Alinean struck a similar deal with Strategic Research to
incorporate their respective software tools and research to help
customers calculate and cost-justify the financial returns on
storage projects.
Earlier this month, Alinean announced plans to begin selling a
comprehensive ROI analysis called ValueIT to make it easier for
chief information officers and other IT executives to cost-justify
technology investments to senior management.
As part of its partnership with Alinean, Hurwitz Group plans to
market and enhance Alinean's ValueIT tool kit for chief information
officers, chief financial officers and other IT decision makers in
time for the 2003 budget season.
