Ambrose McGinn, joint managing director at Jenks, said the IT investment was a core component of the company's growth strategy. "It means we will be able to provide deeper insight into the brands we look after and keep pace with the demands of our business environment," he said.
Software and services for the new IT system are to be supplied by Microsoft Gold Certified partner Trinity Computer Services.
Trinity systems are based on the Microsoft Dynamics platform, around which a range of business applications have been developed to meet the needs of the distribution market sector, said Carl Bolus, sales and marketing director for Trinity.
The new system has also been designed as a platform for the new Jenks Portal, an online environment that enables retailers to monitor and manage product sales in real-time.
Erick Hall, Dynamics GP product solutions manager said Jenks had recognised that information was becoming ever more crucial to business operations ad that getting the right data to the right people at the right time was essential.
