Bike Tyrestore boosts service with web system

Motorbike tyre wholesaler Bike Tyrestore has reported improvements in its customer service after adopting a web-based tracking system for its tyre deliveries.

The company, which supplies bike dealers around the UK, said the Netdespatch service has allowed it to take orders for next-day delivery much later in the working day.

Call centre staff use Bike Tyrestore's ordering system - Cameo, supplied by Cam systems - to log orders from customers. Cameo automatically prints picking notes, invoices and barcode labels for each order at the firm's warehouse.

Cameo sends a booking through the Netdespatch system to the courier firm, APC Overnight. The system provides the courier with a complete list of deliveries, which they are able to check by scanning a barcode on the tyre label.

Bike Tyrestore began using the online service in January, after it changed its express delivery parcel carrier to APC Overnight. The delivery company has integrated Netdespatch into its own systems.

"It has opened up all sorts of opportunities for improving both our warehouse operations and our customer service, which would not have been possible 12 months ago," said Peter Smith, joint managing director at Bike Tyrestore.
