PatchLink upgrades security management

PatchLink has upgraded its PatchLink Update security management software to give large companies the ability to better manage network security through increased scalability, efficiency and advanced reporting capabilities. Patchlink Update 6.2 combines automated patch, vulnerability and compliance management within a single web-based console.

New IBM xSeries to offer greater capacity

IBM is planning a four-processor xSeries, a variation of the larger xSeries 366 server that offers more storage capacity. Like the 366 server, the new 266 option uses as many as four of Intel's Cranbrook Xeon processors and IBM's X3 chipset. X3 is designed to link each processor and other parts of the system to help improve performance.

Wily offers tool for managing SAP apps

Wily Technology has launched a tool for managing SAP applications. Introscope for SAP Netweaver provides transaction-level monitoring of SAP's Netweaver J2EE Engine, Enterprise Portal, Knowledge Management, XI and CRM software.

New e-mail security products from McAfee

McAfee has released its Secure Messaging Service for Small Businesses and Secure Messaging Service for Enterprises. The products provide e-mail threat prevention and policy management for securing and managing e-mail systems.

InstallAware updates Windows installer

InstallAware has introduced the second edition of its Windows software installer. Designed for system administrators and software developers, the installer offers scripting to enable software installations to be customised. It also offers a partial install facility, where some components of an application can be installed online, rather than on a local hard disc.
