BMC to offer hosted identity management

BMC is to introduce a hosted identity management service for large and mid-size businesses. Provided by managed service provider DNS, it will offer remote directory and access management, user administration, password management, security and audit and compliance management.

Apple previews Leopard Mac operating system

Apple has previewed Leopard, the next version of its Macintosh operating system, at a user conference in the US. Leopard is expected to be available by early 2007. The OS features Bootcamp software, which allows users to run Windows on Intel-based Macs.

Intrusion prevention for 802.11 wireless Lans

A wireless Lan intrusion prevention system has been released that can help to identify rogue wireless hotspots and hacking attempts. AirDefense's Mobile 4.0 is designed to protect laptops that use 802.11 standards.

EMC bundle to protect data outside the firewall

EMC is bundling content management and security software to help protect data outside the corporate firewall. Documentum IRM Services and EMC Documentum Records Manager 5.3 run on the EMC Documentum content management platform.
