Commerce Decisions has launched a fully managed hosting service for its Award procurement software.
The company said the service would eliminate the need for customers’ own IT function to install and support Award. Customers can now acquire and install the software in the traditional way or receive it over a secure internet connection.
According to the company, the benefits of using the fully managed service include zero infrastructure costs for the customer, shorter setup times and the delegation of all the management and backing up of data and disaster recovery to Commerce Decisions.
Graeme Struthers, project manager for West Lothian Council, said, "Using the Award managed service on the recent West Lothian Council education PPP project was the first time we had used a hosted solution.
"Not only did it save us a great deal of time in that we were able to get up and running immediately, but it also saved us significant costs in terms of IT hardware and staff resources that we did not have to tie up. We would definitely recommend the hosted approach to other organisations."
The hosted service includes software and implementation services, along with maintenance, end-user training and support. Once customers are up and running, they work with a dedicated Commerce Decisions manager assigned to their account.
Commerce Decisions is a leading provider of software and services to support the process of strategic procurement.
