Busy spring schedule beckons for IT users

Infosecurity, the UK's largest IT security exhibition and conference, takes place at Olympia in London between 27 and 29 April.

The high-level conference programme has more than 65 keynotes and seminars from the likes of the Bank of England, BT, Scotland Yard, Cap Gemini Ernst &Young, BBC and Cisco Systems. Microsoft will also be holding a three-day security workshop.

The IT Directors' Forum, which takes place on board the cruiseship Aurora, sets sail on Wednesday 12 May, and the UK Computer Measurement Group holds its annual conference in Oxford on 24-26 May.

Public sector users have their own dedicated show on 14-15 May in London.

All users get the opportunity for a European dimension to their networking from Giga analysts at GigaWorld Europe in Paris on 2-4 June. Europe also beckons for Hewlett-Packard, Compaq and Digital Equipment users with the HP-Interex EMEA conference in Munich on 3-6 May.

IBM users will be flying into Cardiff on 20 June, when IBM small systems user group Common hosts its two-day event.

Senior IT users have another event with the Economist's CIO and IT Directors' Summit on 10 June in London. Also in June are the Oracle User Group Apps World conference, also in London starting 23 June; and the major government sector event of the year, the Government Computing conference and exhibition at Earls Court on 22-23 June.

The big event of the summer is the Intellect ICT Industry Charity Ball in London on 8 July, in aid of children's charity Treehouse.
