The survey by AFCOM's Data Centre Institute includes data gathered both before and after the US terror attacks from 422 senior data centre managers, representing virtually every major industry segment.
Key findings include the news that e-business has been transformed from a means of selling books and CDs over the Internet into a strategic tool for strengthening and broadening customer relationships by large organisations; enterprise data centres are playing an increasingly important role in e-business and firms in the financial services; and the technology and manufacturing and distribution sectors are pioneering the use of Internet Data Centres.
