MSB International is celebrating the success of its permanent division, which recently recorded a 400 per cent growth in revenue and earnings of over £1.2 million, in its first year of trading.

Head of the division, Tracey Abbot, attributes the team's success to good market conditions and to the strength of existing client relationships among the agency's contract consultants. "The growth we have experienced this year is phenomenal," she remarks. "Traditionally, exciting and challenging IT projects tended to be associated with contract work. With the huge increase of internet start-ups and demand for web expertise, the number of lucrative permanent positions have soared, offering share options, training and challenging work - attracting recruits from both the permanent and contracting side."

MSB expects the trend to continue, adds Abbott, who has noted a growth in vacancies for Java, HTML, UTML, WAP and GPRS technologies. Increasing demand in telecoms and PC development requirements have also been recorded in the permanent sector, she says, and the agency is expanding its division accordingly.
