Orange Business Services, Cisco, EMC and VMware have formed a business alliance called Flexible 4 Business to provide end-to-end cloud computing services for businesses. The alliance aims to help businesses migrate to cloud computing.
Videk Badrinath, chief executive at Orange Business Services, said, "CIOs are looking at how to use cloud to transform IT. Flexible 4 Business preassembles technologies to build managed services to address the needs of large enterprise."
He said Orange Business Services would operate a pay-per-use managed service based on components from Cisco, VMware, EMC and Orange. Badrinath claimed it would run as a natural extension to the telcoms business.
"Architected properly, customers can benefit from having their own private clouds seamlessly integrated with service provider clouds to deliver on the promise of providing unprecedented gains in operational efficiency, quality of service and business agility for enterprise IT," said Howard Elias, president and chief operating officer, information infrastructure and cloud services, at EMC.
Flexible 4 Business will offer private cloud and back-up services to business users.
