Fired on Facebook

Social networking is a popular way to communicate, but is often a way of getting a message across without having to face someone or deal with them on the phone.

Proving this theory beyond a shadow of doubt, a cookie shop in Leigh, Greater Manchester used the social networking medium to devastating effect.

When 16-year-old Chelsea Taylor logged on to her Facebook account, she was shocked to find a sour message from the cookie seller teller her she was fired.

Earlier in the day the unlucky teenager mislaid £10, but despite being willing to repay it, she was sent a termination notice where she least expected to find it.
