Requirements engineering symposium

Requirements engineering symposium

Justin Richards

The BCS Requirements Engineering Specialist Group is running a one-day symposium on 10 May, introducing and investigating problem frames.

Requirements engineering is a key activity in software development. It is concerned with the identification of stakeholders' goals and their elaboration into precise statements of desired services and behaviour.

The problem frames approach addresses the early lifecycle of software engineering, moving the engineer back to the problem rather than forward to the software and possibly the premature solution of a problem.

A morning tutorial will cover the foundations and techniques of problem frames. The afternoon session will provide a snapshot of current problem frames research and practice. The day will be rounded off with a panel discussion and questions from the floor.
