...Communication - always the number one issue.

How? Ensure that everyone in your team knows where to go, to find out anything they want, without fear or favour. Do this, and you will have perfect communication.

Why so powerful? Because it ensures that communication is not just top down, that everyone takes ownership and responsibility for being a leader, and it stops the negs in their tracks

What to do now? Hold an open forum, and announce this new way forward as a team...

Not sure I follow how to use this advice. I also try to have an open forum about ideas and what is going on. Do you have examples of how this can be achieved.Maybe I am doing it wrong, but our team knows who to talk to and knows where to get the info. They do need the motovation to make the first step though. I would be intrested in your thoughts.

regards

Andrew

Thanks Andrew - hold two open forums a month - one in the morning, one afternoon (then you will catch everyone). Plant the first question at the first forum and make it a biggie (that you can answer). Commit that all questions will either be answered now (ideally), later (if you need to find something out) or that it is confidential (to do with personal details of info that is company confidential - which is not much). The key is that people know where to go (eg open forum) to find stuff out and it is their responsibility to do this. Sounds like you are doing much of this already. And as the forums continue, the less people will attend - keep them going even if no-one turns up - it's like a party - we may not want to go, but we want to be invited. DT
