How can we be sure that what we read, hear or see on the Internet is real? The Internet has changed the way we work and the way we spend our leisure time. We no longer need to queue in shops. Products can be bought in an online catalogue; dream holiday can be booked from a travel web site. Its supporters say the Internet can cater for almost every human need. We can even find love on the Internet. In this interview, Cliff Saran speaks to Lee Siegel, author of Against the Machine: Being Human in the Age of the Electronic Mob, who believes that there's a lot wrong with the way the web works today.
